We will benefit from a strong economy as long as we safeguard our environment and protect our harbor. To make continued improvements, I want to work with my colleagues to tackle the infrastructure improvements that are needed to address our community's stormwater runoff and flooding issues.
We need to support our businesses by strengthening the fundamentals of our economy, easing restrictions on businesses, and supporting regional economic development. I will continue to work with my colleagues and our state leaders to be responsive about the needs of our partners in the business community. This also means ensuring that workers are able to live affordably in our town.
Our investments in education will improve our quality of life in Bristol and will provide young people with the skills needed to excel in today's workforce. I support strengthening our schools by making sure that they have the resources needed to teach our children. I would especially like to see CTE programs in our schools that align with our regional economic development priorities.
I enjoy spending time with our seniors and learning about the issues that matter to them. Here is a picture from a Halloween visit to Franklin Court with the "Pillsbury Doughboy." Prior to Covid-19 we were working with RI Department of Health to furnish our seniors with free "Go-Bags" in case of an emergency evacuation and I will continue to prioritize that effort.
